The newly enacted “Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230,” published on July 19, 2023, is set to supersede the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC being effective January 20, 2027. From that date forward, this regulation will be directly enforceable across all Member States, eliminating the need for national transposition and thereby repealing the prior directive.

CEIR-Taps & Valves Europe Position Paper on PFAS ban
On February the national authorities of Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden presented to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) a restriction proposal on the manufacture, placing on the market and use of PFAS.
A six-month public consultation open until September 25, 2023, allowed stakeholders, including trade associations and companies, to share views on the risks, socio-economic aspects, and alternative substances related to PFAS. CEIR, as the representative association of the European Taps and Valves Industry and registered in the EU transparency registry, has developed and submited an opinion to present the industry position.
